Ingredients
Marinated
- 1/2 whole chicken cut into separate pieces (breast, thigh, wing and leg)
- 1/2 cup hot sauce
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
Seasoning
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons of salt to season
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Canola or vegetable spray oil
Method:
1-To make a fried chicken in an air fryer you can start by marinating the chicken pieces you want and the marinating time can be from 1 hour to 24 hours.
One way to marinate the chicken is with buttermilk to give the chicken a juicy touch and also hot sauce to taste.
2- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
3-Place a parchment lining or also known as waxed paper to cook in the basket or support of the fryer.
4-Take a piece of chicken from the marinating mixture and place it in the flour mixture, coating all sides of the chicken and shaking off excess flour. Then place the piece in the fryer basket. Do the same with the other chicken pieces.
5-Close the air fryer basket and set the temperature to 390 ° F and the time to 25 minutes. Then turn on the fryer.
6-After 13 minutes open the fryer and drizzle the chicken with oil making sure that all the breaded chicken is covered, turning each piece. Close the fryer and cook for 10 more minutes.
7-Once you reach the time, open the air fryer and check the chicken pieces with a quick read thermometer. Chicken is done when it reaches a temperature of 165 ° F in the thickest part.
Recommendations:
It is necessary to be careful not to put the chicken pieces one on top of the other, it is better that they are separated so that the air can surround the chicken and leave it better cooked.
The paper should be put first and then the chicken pieces so that it does not move when you turn on the fryer due to the weight of the chicken inside.
